Elder Arthur Drummer was born and reared in Simmesport. After completing his high school education, he went to Dallas, Texas to find employment. Employment he found, and  he also found the greater blessing of salvation waiting for him in Dallas.  He was saved and filled with the power of the Holy Ghost at Full Gospel Holy Temple. Eager to share the good news, he got busy in the street ministry. An humble servant, he volunteered to bring soda pop and iced water to the street services. As he was faithful in that, God promoted him to conducting testimony service, and later called him to preach. After receiving the call to the evangelistic field, he also received a burden for his hometown.  In 1983, God’s divine plan led Elder Drummer and his family to start a ministry in Simmesport. Thus, the Simmesport Full Gospel Holy Temple Church was born.

Elder Drummer has been faithful to God, and under his leadership several outreach ministries  have been born. A radio broadcast, a prison ministry, a  newsletter (The Young Christian Times),  a nursing home ministry, and a school,  The FGHT Christian Academy  comprise a partial list of outreach ministries.  The academy has produced students who have gone on to earn associates, bachelors, and masters degrees.  Certified teachers,  nurses, licensed counselors, and various medical personnel are positions held by the graduates of the Academy.

Elder Drummer has a big heart for mankind, and an even bigger heart for God’s people. He deeply cherishes his leaders,  Apostle Lobias Murray and Dr.  Shirley Murray.

He has made many sacrifices for the work of the Lord, sowing into the lives of many youth in his community. One of his trademark messages is Don’t Forget God.

Evangelist Mary Drummer is the wife of Elder Arthur Drummer, pastor of the Simmesport Full Gospel Holy Temple Church.  She was saved and filled with the Holy Ghost in 1968 after hearing the life-changing message, “ Point of Contact”, preached by Apostle Lobias Murray.  Evangelist Drummer works in a support role in the church, promoting all of her husband’s initiatives and fueling his vision for the ministry.

In addition to being the wife of Elder   Drummer, she is the mother of three children, April, Samuel, and Jonathan, and two grandchildren—Brianna and Blake. Evangelist Drummer believes that all that a woman accomplishes in life is significantly diminished if it cannot be said that she attended to the needs of her family and raised her children.  She will be forever grateful for the lasting example of a wife and mother that Dr. Shirley Murray has shown.

Evangelist Drummer has a deep commitment to reaching out to the lost and discouraged, and thus has launched various outreach ministries to touch those who are seeking for a more enriched life.  The Gospel Militia, the Young Christian Times newsletter, the Sunbeams, and the Active Word: Christian Drama ministry are some of the channels through which she extends the message of Jesus Christ.

A life-long educator, Evangelist Drummer believes that a good education will open doors that would not ordinarily be opened. Christian education tops her list of essentials in the world of knowledge. Evangelist Drummer is the adult Sunday School teacher and the supervisor and administrator of the FGHT Christian Academy.  Besides being an anointed minister and teacher of God’s word, she is also   a   respected   lecturer and conference presenter. As such, she has stood before many audiences as a testimony for the Lord Jesus Christ.  As a certified teacher and master educator, she has held various positions and won many awards, but her most cherished position is daughter of Zion.   A woman of prayer and faith, Evangelist Drummer believes that All Things Are Possible to Them That Believe.
